Dampak Lingkungan dan Sosial Dari Tambang Batu Bara di Muaro Jambi 2007-2023

Abstrak

This research analyzes the environmental and social impacts of coal mining activities in Muaro Jambi in the 2007-2023 period. Environmentally, coal mining activities cause air, water and soil pollution. From a social perspective, coal mining has caused an increase in traffic jams and accidents due to the high number of vehicles carrying coal. This research aims to provide an overview of the environmental and social impacts of coal mining in Muaro Jambi. This research uses 4 historical methods, namely heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography by collecting data collected from various primary and secondary sources, such as newspapers and articles. Social conflicts between communities and mining companies often occur, affecting the social and economic lives of local residents. Many residents who previously worked as farmers are now dependent on work in the mining sector, changing the structure of the local economy and increasing dependence on mining companies. The environmental and social impacts of coal mining in Muaro Jambi are very complex and require serious attention from the government and mining companies.
